Considered at the pinnacle of Sicilian winemaking, so much so that it is the only one, to date, to deserve the DOCG designation with the Presidential Decree of 29/05/73, Cerasuolo di Vittoria Vigna di Pettineo can also boast the “Classico” appellation as it is produced in the Municipality of Vittoria. A perfect blend of Nero d'Avola and Frappato grapes that ensure the right balance between structure and aromas, obtained by maintaining a low yield of grapes per hectare which guarantees its high quality. Classification: Cerasuolo di Vittoria Classico DOCG Production area: Vittoria (RG) – C.da Pettineo Soil and altitude: Red sands \ 170m. above sea level Grapes used: 50% Frappato – 50% Nero d'Avola Training system: Alberello Average age of the vineyard: 40 years Yield per hectare: 50 Q. Vinification: Maceration for 15 days. with the marc and fermentation at controlled temperature. Aging: 9 months in steel and 9 months in bottle.
